Workshop

 

Vanguard Village conducted a “Kimono Kollab” workshop at a major art school “Lasalle College of the Arts” in Singapore on the 17th of August 2015.  The students learnt basics of Kimono then a task of making contemporary garments with distributed vintage Kimono was given to them.  The students from Media department are going to make a documentary film of Kimono transition.

Kimono Kollab was featured in the biggest newspaper in Singapore on the 5th of October 2014, that was just before the first Kimono Kollab popup started at Takashimaya Singapore.  The article occupied a whole page and it impressed many local people and it brought a big number of customers to the popup.

 

After the first popup, the successful news of Kimono Kollab flew to Japan and one of the major Japanese newspaper, Asahi Shinbun featured the news.  The article was tiny but it was meaningful to Kimono Kollab.
